Question: How long has Atlantis Publishing been going?
Answer: Atlantis Publishing was founded in Athens in 1993. For several years we existed as a small and largely unheard of publishing firm specialising in booklets
and pamphlets on arcane knowledge and wisdom. Later our interests broadened and we have now instigated a wide variety of projects that are as varied as they are interesting. For more details see our special section.
Question: Why the name Atlantis Publishing?
Answer: The name of Atlantis has often been associated with higher wisdom and knowledge, and it was inevitable that Atlantis should feature somewhere in our name.
Question: How are we financed?
Answer: Atlantis Publishing is a non profit making organisation that is privately financed and independent of commercial control.
Question: What are our motives?
Answer: Our motives are simply to explore the boundaries of knowledge and wisdom for the good of all humanity. Beyond reasonable expenses we never charge for our features
and there is likewise no copyright on any of the many pictures and articles that we produce. Material published over the Internet is therefore free for everyone to use as they wish.
Question: Why do we have no physical headquarters or offices?
Answer:
The answer to this is simple. Our work often involves controversial findings that are not always universally accepted. Just occasionally this manifests itself in a manner that can be quite threatening. Because of this we felt the appropriate thing to do was confine our address to one that was wholly web based.
Question: Who is the head of Atlantis Publishing?
Answer:
There is no overall chief person or director. As a completely democratic organisation we leave decisions to a majority vote and believe that hierarchic leadership should be a thing of the past.
Question: Is the end of the world at hand?
Answer: While the physical existence of the planet may not be in any danger, the survival of the life on it is not so certain. So many factors now vie with each other to
produce a picture of the future that appears anything but rosy. For further details see our own special site on the subject. http://www.toolate.cjb.net
Question: Is the planet beyond redemption?
Answer: There are divided views on this one. Some believe we have already done enough environmental damage to the planet to set in motion a chain of disastrous events that
are now unstoppable. The truth is that failure to address some of the crucial issues that now face us will inevitably bring catastrophe in the not too distant future. Moreover this threat does not come from just one
source alone but a whole variety of separate factors. For further details see our own special site on the subject.
Question: Aren’t we being negative with our prognostications of disaster?
Answer:
No, not at all. In this respect the negative thing to do would be to ignore the many problems that face the world and insist against the facts that somehow we could muddle through regardless. In answer to this we have prepared a special survival guide which outlines our views on the subject.
