New Years Message - Nothing to feel proud about.
Our official entry into the third millennium finds the planet at something of a cross-roads. As a decisive era this has no peers. The reality is that humanity has little to feel proud
about and so much that needs to be put right. To this background the clock is ticking - the countdown to an inevitable calamity that is our certain rendezvous along our current path of development.
Immediate priority.
Many world leaders and clergy men of all faiths and persuasions are finally waking up to the fact that disaster stares us full in the face. Abuse of the environment, squandering of
natural resources, and vast inequalities in living standards cannot go unresolved for too much longer. A deliberate plan of action should be our immediate
priority. If not, and these threats remain to gather pace, we shall soon face an unstoppable momentum that will hasten the biological makeup of this planet to the brink of extinction.
Revolution of thinking.
There is no way these truths can be paraphrased in any other way. We face an imminent threat to our existence and the faster we realise this the better it will be. It means that as we
enter this highly symbolic year it is time for a revolution of thinking that will finally set aside the destructive pathways that have brought us to this decisive moment!
Everyone's responsibility.
We must remember that the well being of the planet we live on is the responsibility of us all. There are no exceptions, and at the very least we must think long and hard about the sort
of world we pass on to our children and their children after them.
