Is it too late?

How long can we survive on the planet or is it all over?

Is it too late?

Millions of deaths yearly.

According to the latest evidence air pollution is already responsible for millions of deaths world-wide.

In plain language the air we breathe is fast deteriorating and if we don’t take urgent remedial action will soon become a major problem. In fact a recent survey involving Austria, France and Switzerland estimates that air pollution accounts for 40,000 deaths a year in just these three countries alone. In Britain at least 24,000 a year die from poor air quality, and across the world air pollution already claims millions of victims. Major conurbation's such as Mexico City, Cairo, and Tokyo are renowned for their high pollution levels and across the world there is barely a Severe implications.

The main culprit is of course the motor car. The shocking fact is that a staggering 6% of deaths across the world can now be attributed to air pollution emanating from exhaust fumes. Even more worrying is that this figure is sure to rise alarmingly. According to a spokesman for Dr Kunzli at Basle University in Switzerland, the public health implications are considerable.

Obvious dangers.

Reading between the lines,  the dangers are obvious. Until now the main victims have been the old and very young but it can only be a matter of time before the level of air pollution is a threat to everyone. Even more alarming is the realisation that there is no set time pattern for this to happen.

The full horror could therefore dawn on us with no warning whatsoever! If that

The warnings are already there.

Complete extinction.

Across the planet massive environmental damage is the legacy of our mis rule of this world. Poisoned lakes, rivers, and oceans together with fast deteriorating air quality and thousands of other intricately related factors mean we are tightly spinning the web of our destruction in a way that if not already inescapable will soon become so.

No escape.

Perhaps the most worrying statistic of all is that up to 80 % of the worlds forests have so far been felled, evoking a truly nightmare scenario. These forests, often known as the lungs of the Earth are vital for the replenishment of oxygen.

It means that lack of any resolve to address these factors here and now will eventually lead to a situation from which there will be no escape.

Killer viruses.

New bugs could mean disaster.
